DescriptionTheDepartment of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of ColoradoColorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a full-time instructorposition starting in August 2019. Master’s in chemistry or related fieldrequired, Ph.D. preferred. Candidateswith instructional experience in General Chemistry laboratories will be givenpreference. Duties may include teachingboth general chemistry I & II labs and/or lecture with other coursespossible (Introductory Chemistry laboratories)—full-load is ≈24 contact hoursper 9-month academic year. Job competencies include: 1) strong writtencommunication skills, 2) well-developed interpersonal and organizationalskills, 3) the ability to work independently and as part of a team, 4)demonstration of initiative and sound judgment, and 5) the ability to setpriorities and meet deadlines.

QualificationsMinimum Requirements:-  Master’sdegree (or higher) in chemistry or related field

 Preferred Skills:-  Experience in curriculum development andinstruction in general chemistry

-  Experience in teaching laboratory (generalchemistry, introductory chemistry)

-  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, andPowerPoint or equivalent

-  Experience with online course managementtools (Canvas, etc.)
