DescriptionReporting to the Director, Research Administration within the College of Engineering (CoE), the Grants and Contract Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the College’s growing research enterprise activities and projects.  The incumbent will maintain his/her own assigned portfolio from cradle-to-grave with a focus on ensuring that PIs receive accurate and timely assistance regarding applications and awards.   Pre-award support includes but is not limited to: assisting in the preparation of grant applications and budgets, tracking the progress through submission, and assisting in other pre-award activity. 
Post-award support includes project setup, budget projections, effort management and reporting, and project closeout.  S/he will also serve as a resource Principal Investigators with respect to daily financial management requirements of the College’s research portfolio.
On behalf of faculty and our College, you will routinely interact with sponsor contacts, the University’s central offices, and collaborating institutions as needed.  The GCC will take on an increasingly complex and diverse research portfolio and may serve as backup to the Director with regards to research related questions and internal meetings, as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree and at least three years related grant management/administrative experience.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 
Required Skills & Abilities:* Ability to work efficiently with limited supervision and guidance* Strong organizational,analytical, communication, and computer skills* Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and deadlines* Strong customer service skills * Ability to work successfully as a member of a team  * Ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization* Proficient with MS Office Suite and similar products* Ability to maintain confidentiality as this role interfaces with sensitive information
Preferred:* Prior experience in Research Administration
