Position Description:
The University of Northern Iowa's Department of Communication Studies invites applications for a three-year term position in web development and interactive design. This full-time (9 month) position requires teaching four courses each semester (12 credits per semester). It will also seek to foster the Interactive Digital Studies curriculum, with a focus in web development and visual studies, and advise students in the program. Candidates should be prepared to teach code in a lab environment, and be able to demonstrate new developments in interactive media.

Education Requirements:
Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Communication Studies, Digital Media/New Media, Art and Technology, Digital Art, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or other related field required.
Required Qualifications:
Required qualifications include at least two years' experience in web development; at least two years' experience in college-level teaching (with a record of excellence); and demonstrated written and oral communication skills.
Desirable Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated experience in creative activity; work with PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, jQuery, Ajax, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, XML, Java; content management systems (WordPress & Drupal); and experience with app development.
