DescriptionThe Office of the Registrar, Systems, Data Integrity & Reporting is recruiting the Information Systems Specialist, Lead.  The primary responsibility of the Information Systems Specialist, Lead position is for retrieving data from various student record systems for required reporting to the University via programming through SQL language directly against database tables or using reporting tools such as Argos. This position is also responsible for creating reports that would allow the Registrar's Office to measure the quantity and the quality of work produced, to create and support reports and dashboards to analyze trends for enrollment and retention purposes.  The person in this position handles all internal and external reporting requirements concerning student biographical and academic data, including third party requests permissible via FERPA and tracks such requests. The person assists with data for the ADC submission twice a semester for the Board of Regents and University of Georgia system reporting on all enrollment, student and course data, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.   Also, additional ad hoc reporting will be required. 

  Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and generate reports for all areas of the Registrar's Office: Academic Records, Registration, Graduation, Cross Registration, Veteran, Residency, and Enrollment Services.  Conduct ad hoc queries to troubleshoot policy and business practice issues. Work closely with data specialist in Financial Aid, Student Accounts, and Admissions and other departments within the division to build and accurately produce quantitative and qualitative reports that assess production and performance as for retention initiatives. Tests, documents, and performs quality assurance on data as requested. Converts data into a variety of useable formats and mediums.
  • Work with Salesforce team and Database team to develop Enrollment Services dashboards that will represent the university's performance in targeted areas for retention initiatives. 
  • Generate targeted email lists in response to requests received from the university community; coordinate delivery with Help Desk if deemed necessary.
  • Assist with error-free submission of enrollment, student and course data, ADC reporting to the University System of Georgia, ensuring timely and accurate submissions that are required twice a semester. 
  • Respond to all open records, Solomon amendment, FERPA permissible requests for GSU student data and track such requests. 
  • Work on other data analysis and data integrity projects as needed, and attend standing meetings concerning data integrity.


  • QualificationsBachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
