Launched in January 2018, the UCLA Pritzker Center is an interdisciplinary venture that brings together a wide variety of UCLA resources and expertise - the UCLA Department of Education, the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, the UCLA Department of Social Welfare, and other units across campus ? to address the complex needs of foster youth and to create better prevention systems for families who are at risk of becoming involved with the child welfare system.

The UCLA Pritzker Center is envisioned as an ongoing hub for this work within Los Angeles, with a focus on both prevention and intervention. The Center will develop new ways to elevate the life trajectories of children and young people who are part of the foster care system. Leaders at the UCLA Pritzker Center will proactively and strategically link UCLA's work to nonprofit agencies, K-12 systems, other education institutions, and government support services as we develop collaborative and innovative classroom support systems, family support services, and trauma and resiliency informed care.


The Pritzker Cener Program Coordinator will manage, coordinate, and implement daily programmatic financial, and administrative activities for the Pritzker Center. The coordinator will engage with members of the Center as well as members of the community on a regular basis. Responsibilities include support of the implementation and management of all current and future Center activities including event management and coordinator for on and off-site meetings and professional development initiatives. This includes managing resources, partners, participants and facilitators. Serve as a liaison between outside agencies to foster and enhance relationships with the Center and the community. The Coordinator will provide daily programmatic financial and administrative activities for the Center which includes ensuring Center related expenses are allocated to the appropriate location. Additional duties include helping disseminate of information about the Center and it's work and increasing the visibility of the Center through social media and website presence.

The Prtizker Center Coordinator works closely with Leadership to further Center goals and vision including the development and continued development of partnerships. Ability to present persuasive arguments and use negotiation skills to achieve mutually agreeable solutions. Required 2.Demonstrate working knowledge of accounting principles and computerized purchasing and accounts payable systems. Required 3.Ability to work responsibly and accurately with detailed information including: financial data and calculations, contract clauses and performance dates, and other numeric narrative information. Required 4.Ability to identify methods to increase efficiency in working operations and propose modifications. Required 5.General office management skills to oversee operations and implement efficient office systems. Required 6.Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information with discretion, and to maintain professional working relationships with sponsors, industry, government, the UC and other academic and corporate institutions. Required 7.Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team. Required 8.Ability to work with a diverse and multi-disciplinary team, members of the community, and students from different socioeconomic backgrounds. Required 9.Ability to accept delegated work, validate expectations, problem-solve obstacles, and follow-up to completion and/or report status of delegated tasks. Required 10.Ability to work independently, meet fixed deadlines, and follow through tasks to completion. Required 11.Strong organization skills to set priorities and work with frequent interruptions. Required 12.Demonstrated ability with University on-line financial systems/ledgers. Can be trained 13.Working knowledge of University policies and procedures such as accounting, travel, purchasing, facilities, mail and expedite tasks with associated central offices. Can be trained 14.Demonstrated ability to efficiently use Macintosh and PC computers with advanced working knowledge in Excel and Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software; demonstrated knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Dropbox. Required 15.B.A/B.S; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Required 17.Ability to work weekends and evenings if necessary. Ability to travel. Required 18. Ability to push/pull/life up to 25 lbs. Required 19. Ability to independently determine appropriate person to handle action items; monitor status of tasks and follow through to completion. The target salary range for this position is between the posted minimum and $21.93 hourly.
