Job Description:

SUMMARY

Manages and directs employer-led workforce training. Provides direct supervision and oversight of the Welding, Mechatronics, and Industry Maintenance staff. Manages program activities, budgets, curriculum development, staff supervision/oversight, recruitment and revenue generation. Ensures compliance with apprenticeship requirements, initiates contract training opportunities, negotiates training agreements, maintains relationship with industry leaders throughout NE Ohio, establishes new formal partnerships, and develops strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Manages all aspects of industry and client engagement in the advanced manufacturing sector

· Responsible for the recruitment, development, and implementation of customized/contract training for advanced manufacturing employers

· Oversees all employer-led training initiatives

· Responsible for increasing customer base and revenue from customized contract training

· Cultivates and maintains positive working relationships and collaborations internally with instructional areas and externally with employers, labor organizations, community stakeholders, and key federal, state and local agencies and institutions

· Manages and expands all advanced manufacturing related training programs

· Facilitates the development of certificate programs that lead to industry credentials

· Develops integrated career pathways to support students from workforce training to associate degree

· Develops advanced manufacturing apprenticeship training programs

· Provides direct supervision and oversight of the welding, industrial maintenance, mechatronics, and lab staff

· Manages and facilitates all related program activities

· Oversees all program-related curriculum development

· Manages related maintenance agreements, site licenses, and other agreements

· Oversees grant funded training initiatives

· Prepares and manages all program related budgets

· Develops and maintains enrollment and revenue goals in collaboration with division leadership

· Recruits, hires, and trains subject matter experts and technical instructional staff to support advanced manufacturing training

· Leads and manages support staff and instructors at the Manufacturing Technology Center of Excellence

· Works collaboratively with other College departments and Centers of Excellence

· Develops and advances the strategic goals and initiatives of the Manufacturing Technology Center of Excellence

· Measures program outcomes, analyzes results and implements program improvements/ enhancements

· Responsible for maintaining the program’s compliance with state and industry requirements

· Performs other duties as assigned




Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree Significant related experience may substitute for education Minimum of seven years of demonstrated related professional experience Demonstrated experience and knowledge in construction trades and/or demonstrated labor organizations experience and knowledge in skilled trades/journeyman experience Demonstrated experience hiring, training, developing, scheduling, supervising and managing the work performance of others Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing and monitoring a business area’s budget Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

· Possess comprehensive knowledge of construction trades concepts and practices with the ability to use in complex, difficult and/or unprecedented situations as it pertains to the departmental focus

· Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results

· Demonstrated advanced Project Management and report preparation skills

· Possess strong organizational, time-management skills, and is results-oriented

· Possess strong commitment to providing excellent customer service

· Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and changing work environment requiring flexibility and teamwork

· Demonstrated ability to develop, foster and cultivate relationships, create opportunities and solve problems

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment; The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated; Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.; Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite
