PRINCETON UNIVERSITY, Princeton, NJ. The Department of Philosophy seeks applications for a tenure-track position in philosophy at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning September 1, 2019. Areas of specialization and concentration: open. Responsibilities include coursework, advising, and service. Salary commensurate with qualifications. A Ph.D. or equivalent by September 1, 2019 is strongly preferred, but not required. Successful candidates who have not completed the requirements for the Ph.D. by September 1, 2019 will be appointed at the rank of Instructor for one year (renewable), with promotion to Assistant Professor dependent on the timely completion of the PhD. The department welcomes applications from candidates with prior experience as well as from new Ph.D.'s. A complete application will contain the following materials, which cannot be returned: 1)a letter of application, 2)a curriculum vitae, 3)a sample of writing in the candidate's field of specialization, 4)three or more confidential letters of reference.
