Preferred Qualifications

• Strong understanding of industry best practices and content management systems. Experience with multiple website platforms preferred.
• Extremely fluent with HTML5/XHTML and CSS.
• Some experience working with PHP, MySQL JavaScript, jQuery, YAML, Twig, Drupal, OmniUpdate, and Wordpress.

Position Summary

This is a full-time position with Auxiliary Services. The individual is a member of a team responsible for the design, development, and ongoing support of Auxiliary Services website suite. This is a highly responsible position and the successful candidate must demonstrate technical proficiency in designing, coding and modifying websites according to client specifications and exhibit the capability to research, assess and adapt to changing technologies. The ideal person for this position will be required to build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and create visually appealing websites based on user-friendly design.

Website Development and Ongoing Support:
• Create, edit, and manage web sites and/or applications that support unit initiatives.
• Work with Marketing Manager to develop web standards and guidelines for style, content and code through research of current web trends, usability testing of clients, survey of clients and content managers, and university brand standards.
• Collaborate with IT staff to ensure sites adhere to university computer use policies and relevant laws (e.g. 508 compliance and copyright).
• Work with Marketing Manager on website search engine optimization including reporting and analysis of traffic. Regularly review the statistics for web services access and usage on the web. Regularly review and analyze website traffic, especially as it relates to types of devices and browsers used to access the website. Use web traffic data to inform and determine how to best optimize existing and new web content.
• Work with IT staff/website vendor to implement appropriate security measures to safeguard data and restrict access appropriately.
• Coordinate periodic website audits.
• Work with IT staff/website vendor to design, develop, and maintain web applications (e.g.) data modeling, coding, integration, testing, debugging, maintenance, documentation code libraries and reporting).
• Ensure websites perform and display content across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
• Work with Content Manager to design and build user interfaces for digital and wayfinding displays.
• Upgrades and migrates existing applications/services to current version/systems architecture.
• Creates supporting documentation.

• Coordinates data integrity by working with IT staff to ensure data backup systems are maintained and properly utilized.
• Coordinates installations of upgrades to existing systems and related application software with vendors and IT staff. Assures completion of routine maintenance by working with the appropriate IT staff/website vendor.
• Coordinates to address corrective actions or repairs with IT staff/website vendor as necessary to maintain system usability.
