Job Description:


Wittenberg University's Education Department is seeking a new colleague in educational leadership, curriculum, and instruction. This is a full-time, one-year Visiting Assistant Professor appointment that may be renewed annually for a total of no more than three years. The primary responsibilities for this position will include teaching in both the graduate and undergraduate program, supervision of field experiences, curriculum development, and some expectation of research and/or service. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate teacher education courses and graduate level courses in educational leadership, diversity, and research. The successful candidate will be expected to supervise graduate and undergraduate field experiences and may serve on graduate student thesis committees. The department will give special consideration to candidates who have a background in elementary education, rural education, online teaching, literacy, and/or special education.

Requirements:


For this position, we require that candidates have earned a Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Instruction, or similar field. ABD candidates will be considered. In addition, we require at least three years of relevant work in K-12 schools. We are looking not only for evidence of teaching effectiveness, a diverse background, and relevant work experience to share with our teacher and principal candidates, but also for dedication to teacher preparation, a sense of humor, knowledge of best instructional practices, a commitment to liberal arts education, and evidence of excellent team membership.
