Position Information Position Title Exercise Physiologist Job Search Identifier Staff Proposed Salary $31,097.00 General Summary of Responsibilities- Develop, coordinate and implement exercise-related programs including marketing, research, and supervision with autonomy and independence.
- Direct oversight and actively performing the daily operations of the fitness center within the Center for Exercise Medicine and Rehabilitation. (CEMR).
- Perform comprehensive medical and/or fitness evaluations on variety of populations at all risk levels with autonomy and independence.
- Directly responsible for the supervision, training, and evaluation of all exercise physiology interns, student assistants and student observers.
- Responsible for all exercise physiologist standards needed to meet regulatory and credentialing requirements.
- Assist with maintaining, updating, and developing new policies and procedures based on national standards and guidelines.
Required Qualifications- Baccalaureate degree in Exercise Science/Physiology or related area of study
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Preferred Qualifications- Master of Science degree in Exercise Science/Physiology or related area of study
- American College of Sports Medicine EP-C, CEP, or RCEP certification
- Minimum of one-year experience in exercise programming/supervision with special populations

Compliance Requirements- Position Requires completion of VSU’s Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker’s Compensation.
