The University of Virginia Office of Advancement’s Office of Engagement is seeking a Communications Coordinator for UVA Clubs and Global Engagement ("Communications Coordinator"). The Communications Coordinator manages event participant data between University software systems. The position accurately utilizes registration software for all UVA club events in order to market more than 1200 UVA Club events each year, including creating Eventbrite registration pages and maintaining accurate content. Provides registration lists and data for key UVA Club events. The position maintains data content and integrity of the UVA Clubs and Global Engagement website, making content updates to over 100 webpages. Ensures accurate data for more than 800 UVA Club leaders records in the database of record for the University of Virginia. The incumbent reviews engaged constituent’s data, identifies discrepancies to be addressed, and recommends and implements solutions as directed.

The incumbent may utilize the University’s platform for email creation and distribution for UVA Club events. The position may represent UVA Clubs and Global Engagement at University-wide meetings across Grounds.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, a Bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of one year of data entry experience is necessary. The successful candidate is able to meet deadlines; handle multiple projects simultaneously; and easily adjust to rapidly changing priorities. Excellent oral, written communication, and organizational skills, with high attention to detail, is required. Strong customer service and follow-through skills are a must. The ability to work independently, as part of a team, and with senior staff to effectively accomplish objectives is required. A working knowledge of event planning and/or alumni relations, a strong understanding of scheduling and meeting planning, and an understanding of the role of development activities as they support the University mission is preferred.

The incumbent must be able to create spreadsheets and have proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to enter, retrieve and research data in donor database. Well-developed computer skills, and facility with web content management systems is required. The ability to understand and translate client online communication needs into effective web forms, pages and sites is necessary, as is the ability to quickly learn relevant computer software.
