Job Summary

This position is responsible for providing administrative support to the President.

Responsibilities
    Provides administrative support to the President (60%)
      Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.Takes messages and makes appointments.Reviews and prioritizes mail, email, and other correspondence.Determines nature of request and responds accordingly.Refers to other appropriate offices or personnel as appropriate.Manages the President’s calendar and travel schedule.Serves as a liaison between the President and other individuals and groups.
    Coordinates and facilitates events. (20%)
      Coordinates and facilitates events hosted by the President and the University.Coordinates with other offices and agencies.Contacts and advises participants and guests.Prepares prgrams and agendas.
    Provides other support for the operations of the President’s Office. (10%)
      Serves as representative of the President’s Office on select committees and civic organizations.Maintains budget records; reconciles and verifies vouchers and receipts for accuracy; approves office expenditures.
    Performs other related duties as assigned. (10%)
Required Qualifications
    Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field required; an equivalent combination of training and experience may be accepted.More than five years of related experience required.

    Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.Knowledge of university and departmental policies and procedures.Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and arithmetic.Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.Skill in the management of files and records.Skill in the use of such office equipment as a computer, scanner, fax machine, and copier.Skill in oral and written communication.
