Job Details
Position provides administrative support to Business programs. Assist with strategic partnerships and scheduling business events for BSM and BSMIS students.
Required Qualifications Complete the 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov.
Have a complete financial aid file (submit all required documents for processing financial aid).
Must be enrolled at NLU at least half-time for classes needed toward your degree.
Maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Current junior or senior in the undergraduate business program
The candidate for the Business Program Assistant, FWS must possess the required abilities: Provide excellent customer service skills while working with students and staff; professional and pleasant demeanor; Have strong existing computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel); excellent organizational skills; clerical skills; communicate effectively with students and staff; great attention to detail and accuracy; be friendly; excellent phone and email etiquette; must be able to maintain confidentiality; must be dependable, reliable, and eager to learn.
The Business Program Assistant, FWS will provide administrative support to the Undergraduate Business Programs Department.
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Answer multi-line phones
Assist with clerical projects
Assist in creating workshop topic ideas, recruiting business speakers
Assist with the planning and execution of the events during the “Business Week”
Assist with data collection and data entry
Become familiar with the University’s services offered to students
Create a friendly and welcoming environment
Create marketing materials
Direct visitors to appropriate departments for further assistance/service
File
Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity
identify internal and external partnership opportunities
Print and process documents
Provide office support
Provide administrative and clerical support
Respond to student inquiries via email or phone
Please Note: Per the Illinois Unemployment Insurance guidelines, any work positions that are paid and classified as student employment, such as Federal Work-Study, College Employment, Graduate Assistant and Harrison Fellow, etc., are not eligible for unemployment compensation, once the position has ended. Participation in the Federal Work-Study program does not constitute bona fide National Louis University employment status. Therefore, when you are no longer participating in the student employment program, you would not be eligible to request or receive unemployment compensation.
