The Human A&P Instructor will teach Human Anatomy and Physiology lecture and laboratories and other science courses based on areas of expertise and department needs. Duties include the organization and management of the laboratory; curriculum development; use of innovative methodologies, techniques and delivery methods; willingness to integrate technology into classroom lessons: and engagement with students inside and outside the classroom, including student advising. There is an expectation for on-going scholarly activity and professional development, collegial activity with peers and involvement with the college governance processes, and coordination and collaboration within the department and with other related programs, including Health Sciences, Nursing, Dental Hygiene, General Science, and Biology. Engagement in undergraduate research will be encouraged.

Reports To Academic Chair Education/Qualifications

Master’s degree in an area related to Anatomy and Physiology with a minimum of 18 graduate hours within the field. Ph.D. preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Have a passion for student-centered learning and student engagement

Be dedicated to maintaining scholarly professional development

Have experience and interest in the use of technology within instruction, and its application in on-line, hybrid and/or web-enhanced courses

Display excellent written and oral communication skills

Possess strong interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and students

Adapt modest biological research that can enliven the college culture and be used as a teaching tool

Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology and related fields

Knowledge of clinical areas of human biology

Knowledge of and experience in biological research is a benefit

Experience

Three years of teaching experience; community college experience preferred
