Salary is per credit hour and based on education and experience.

Basic Function:

Part-time instructors needed to teach Veterinary medicine and technology lecture/labs at the Loudoun Campus of Northern Virginia Community College.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Adjunct faculty are employed to teach up to 12 credit hours in the Fall and Spring semester and/or up to 8 credit hours during Summer session. Teaching load is based upon student enrollment and staffing needs. Instruction may be during the day, evening, or weekend. Compensation is per credit hour and based upon rank. The adjunct faculty appointment contains no guarantee of continued employment.

Minimum Qualifications:

DVM or VMD with valid Virginia license plus minimum 2 years clinical experience, or LVT with valid Virginia license plus Bachelor’s degree plus minimum 4 years clinical experience, or LVT with valid Virginia license plus Associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology plus minimum 6 years clinical experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

College level teaching experience and/or relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Adept knowledge of instructional technologies. Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communication skills. Ability to work with a diverse student population. Successful completion and passing of a criminal background check is required
