SUMMARY OFMAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES                                                         


Context. TheIMPACT Practice Center (IPC) Director will provide leadership and oversight forcontinued growth and development of the IPC, a campus-based center withcommunity outreach in which interprofessionalism infuses the culture andpractice of education, care delivery and scholarship. The IPC provides healthprofessions students with experiential learning facilitating development ofuni- and inter-professional competencies for practice; delivers health,wellness, and participation-related services to community members; and fostersresearch and scholarship related to processes, outcomes and impact of theactivities occurring under its umbrella.


Role summary.Working closely with the Associate Provost for Interprofessional Education andPractice to prioritize specific goals in this 0.5 position, the inaugural IPC Directorwill provide leadership for development of a culture of interprofessionalcollaboration infusing education, service delivery and scholarship; serve as theeducational thought leader and a key resource for continued development,implementation and evaluation of IPC education and practice initiatives; engagein community outreach and help build relationships with community partners tosupport the IPC’s innovative programming and initiatives; and supervise staffto facilitate smooth operation.

 PRINCIPALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

 Education/Teaching (30%)
  1. Support and oversee the use of best practices fordeveloping and implementing experiential learning in the on-campus center andin the community.
  2. Support development of faculty/supervisors working inthe IPC, to ensure a foundation for interprofessional education and practice.
  3. Lead the IPC team in planning and evaluatingeducational activities that support learner development of InterprofessionalEducation Collaborative (IPEC), IHP, and profession-specific core competencies.
  4. Collaborate with IPC leaders and faculty to develop,implement, and evaluate profession specific and interprofessional clinicallearning experiences and their impact on various stakeholder groups (e.g.students, clients, etc.).
Leadership/Administration (30%): 
  1. Provide leadership for infusing interprofessionalismacross the IPC and continuing development of its interprofessionalcollaborative practice model.
  2. Develop an IPC leadership team, including the designatedleaders of program specific centers, Practice Manager and others asappropriate, that collaborates to identify systems and processes that support aninterprofessional environment for education and practice and IPC operations thatmeet the needs of its varied stakeholders.
  3. In collaboration with Schools/Departments/Programs,identify and build relationships with community organizations, populations, andindividual participants in support of the IPC’s mission related to studentlearning, care delivery, and scholarship.
  4. Facilitate processes that support the IPC in realizingits potential for contributing to interprofessional scholarship andresearch.  
Scholarship (20%)
  1. Contribute to scholarly evaluation of IPE/IPP withinthe IPC and across the Institute and disseminate findings
  2. Develop scholarship in area of interest
Operations (20%)
  1. EngageIPC leadership team and IHP facilities/IT leadership to ensure implementationof IPC policies & procedures, and to address operational and technology needs.
  2. Supervise IPC Practice Manager.
  3. Participate in identifying resource needs related tothe IPC’s development of existing and new initiatives, and support efforts toseek external and internal mechanisms for meeting those needs. 


Qualifications

  • Graduate degree required. 
  • Doctoral degree preferred. 
  • Must have experience leading development,implementation and evaluation of student education and training. 
  • Requiresknowledge of principles of adult learning, curriculum development andevaluation.
  • Health related experience is required, as a health professional and/orhealth professions educator. 
  • The successful candidate will be recommended for afaculty appointment with rank commensurate with qualifications.

a) Administrative Skills- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to build collaborative education and practice environments. Ability to provide customer service and collaborate with others. Demonstrated strong organizational and supervisory skills. b) Technical Skills- Knowledge of computer systems and ability to learnnew systems.
