The Southeast HIV/AIDS Research and Evaluation Project in Atlanta, GA and the Institute for Collaboration on Health, Intervention, and Policy (InCHIP) at the University of Connecticut invite applications for Postdoctoral Research Associate positions. The postdoctoral research associate will work on National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research studies, which focus on the design, development, and testing of HIV prevention interventions. The aim of this work is to reduce health disparities along the HIV care continuum, including, in part, developing interventions to improve HIV testing uptake, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) use, and medication adherence. The work is primarily focused on the role of stigma as a barrier to accessing health care.

The candidate will be involved in the implementation, oversight, and evaluation of research studies working with sexual orientation and race/ethnic minority populations. Work will focus on collecting multilevel data, conducting multilevel analyses, interpreting multilevel data, submission of research findings for conferences and peer reviewed publications, and translation of research findings into practice. The candidate will work with Dr. Lisa Eaton to coordinate grant milestones, contribute to annual grant reports, lead and contribute to scholarly writing, and conduct research with members of an interdisciplinary team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Ph.D. in an area of health, social, or behavioral sciences;
  2. Evidence of strong scholarship through published research in the field of social science and health;
  3. Demonstrated experience conducting advanced quantitative data analyses;
  4. Demonstrated evidence of organizational skills and attention to detail;
  5. Strong interpersonal skills;
  6. Excellent interpersonal, writing, and research skills;
  7. Strong time management and organizational skills;
  8. Ability to prioritize deadlines;
  9. Ability to work both independently and as a member of the research team.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Demonstrated skills in working in research with LGBTQ populations.

APPOINTMENT TERMS

These are 12-month, annually renewable positions.
