The Department of Social Work is seeking a full-time, tenure-track, faculty member at the level of Assistant Professor. Duties of the position include teaching four courses each semester, student mentoring/advisement responsibilities, and working on university-wide committees. Instructional areas may include research, human behavior in the social environment, social welfare policy, diversity/cultural competence and micro/mezzo/macro social work practice.

Additional responsibilities include actively participating in faculty efforts associated with reaffirmation of CSWE accreditation, serving as liaison between the department of Social Work and the community, maintaining office hours in accordance with university policy, and performing other duties as assigned. Applicants should have a high commitment to effective classroom/online teaching, student advising and mentoring, curriculum development, and scholarly activities. The position in the department, which is actively involved in a variety of community-based research projects, requires a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and to the field instruction/internship program. Preference given to candidates with a strong record as a social service agency supervisor and supervision of field interns.

Minimum qualifications for the position include: An MSW from a CSWE accredited social work program (required), with a minimum two years post-MSW social work practice experience in a social services setting, and Ph.D. required (ABD considered). Preference given to candidates with a strong record as a social service agency supervisor and supervision of field interns.
