Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professor of Social Work
The Department of Social Work at the University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Tenure-Track, Assistant/Associate Professor. Duties of position include leadership of faculty efforts associated with creation of, and initial CSWE accreditation of an MSW online program, MSW program administration, teaching graduate courses, conducting research/scholarly activities, a strong connection to social work professional/research bodies, and student mentoring/advisement responsibilities.
Additional duties include maintaining office hours in accordance with university policy, serving on university-wide committees, functioning as a liaison between the department of Social Work and the community, and performing other duties essential to the department. Instructional areas may include graduate courses in: research, human behavior in the social environment, social welfare policy, and all levels of social work practice.
Minimum qualifications for the position include: A Ph.D. in social work is required. Also required is an MSW from a CSWE-accredited institution, with two years of post-MSW practice experience, and experience with the CSWE accreditation process. Experience in MSW program administration and/or creation of an online MSW program is required, as is experience teaching online MSW courses. Experience in developing and supervising MSW field placement opportunities is preferred.
