Instructor of Dental Hygiene

Job description

Job Summary

This 12 month position reports to the Director of Dental Hygiene and will teach dental hygiene students on either the first or second levels in an Associate Degree Dental Hygiene program. 


•Teach dental hygiene laboratory, clinical and didactic courses
•Maintain weekly office hours
•Participate in departmental and institutional committees as assigned
•Assist in curriculum review and accreditation documentation
•Participate in student advising within the program and school wide
•Provides chair-side clinical instruction and feedback for students in the dental hygiene clinic
•Attend Faculty meetings and workshops
•Supervise students during clinical/laboratory/class experiences
•Participate in dental community and program events
•Participate in professional and scholarly pursuits
•Assists Director as needed

Required Qualifications

• RDH from an accredited dental hygiene school
• Master’s degree regiured
• Current Georgia Dental Hygiene License or is licensure eligible
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical dental hygiene experience
• Teaching experience preferred

•Strong Dental Hygiene Instrumentation skills
•Good organizational and communication skills
•Good computer skills with Microsoft office and D2L
