Job Description:

SUMMARY

Provides College-wide leadership, coordination and administrative oversight for all aspects of academic professional development, including full-time and adjunct faculty, their supervisors, and the departments of Online Learning and Academic Technology (OLAT), and Transfer and Articulation. This includes programming such as annual Convocations, the Faculty Colloquium, Onboarding of new tenure-track faculty, dean and program manager professional development, and Bb Boot Camp. Strategically partners with internal and external constituencies and promotes a culture of faculty engagement and continuous learning while achieving a goal of ensuring high quality academic and support programming that meets the community’s needs. Serves as College-wide liaison to Achieve the Dream.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

· Provides strategic leadership and may lead and/or develop academic professional development programming that enhances student learning, expands use of innovative and effective teaching pedagogies, and supports a highly effective cadre of full-time and adjunct faculty that support student success, learning and completion

· Provides strategic leadership and coordination to Online Learning and Academic Technology (OLAT)

· Provides strategic leadership and coordination to Transfer & Articulation

· Collaborates with College-wide and campus based departments (e.g., CLEs) to provide training to faculty/deans on instructional design and technology as needed

· Administers and coordinates annual faculty professional development events such as College-wide Convocation, Faculty Colloquium, Faculty Conversations, Tenure-track Reception, the Orientation to Teaching, Learning, and Leadership programs for new tenure-track faculty

· Serves as a resource and collaborates with Deans in support of faculty professional development plans and faculty service and activity credits

· May serve as a resource or contributing member on faculty evaluation efforts

· Leads and develops professional development opportunities/programming for Deans and Program Managers/Directors that enhance professional leadership abilities, department/division management skills, and other capabilities identified to assist deans in support of student success, learning, and completion while ensuring an effective cadre of full-time and adjunct faculty

· Serves as a member of the College's "Achieving the Dream" leadership team, which is seeking to build a "culture of evidence" at the College with the aim of increasing academic achievement by all students

· Manages assigned budget and assigned staff, including recruiting, hiring, training, and evaluation

· Identifies and manages appropriate grant programs that, if awarded, would support and enhance the department’s plans and goals

· Performs other duties as assigned




Qualifications:

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING

    Master's degree in a related field
Significant related experience may substitute for education Minimum of eight years of demonstrated experience working in higher education, especially a multi-campus environment Demonstrated administrative leadership experience in higher education · Evidence of exercising leadership by collaborating across boundaries to accomplish a key initiative or advance a strategic goal

· Demonstrated project management experience

· Demonstrated experience forecasting, planning, maintaining, preparing and monitoring a business area’s budget

· Demonstrated experience effectively making decisions that have major implications on the management and operations within a department

· Demonstrated effectiveness in a role requiring dynamic and abstract problem solving methods in adaptive situations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES

· Conversant on the issues and latest trends in higher education as they relate to the faculty role and faculty development programs, and emerging technologies

· Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

· Possess knowledge of current and emerging educational technologies and application strategies including best practices

· Ability to balance broad strategic thinking with attention to detail

· Possess excellent research skills

· Ability to motivate and inspire others

Ability to develop, implement and improve systems and processes using continuous improvement methodologies Ability to develop and manage a budget, including the oversight and management of either resources or in-house personnel Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with individuals at all levels within an organization Ability to facilitate top-level collaboration while managing sensitive issues Ability to collaborate, negotiate and resolve conflicts on major projects Ability to develop and maintain relationships with key contacts to enhance work flow and quality · Possess sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population
