  • Position Description

    The School of Population Health at the University of Toledo invites applications for one of three new tenure-track assistant professor positions in public health. These positions will help expand our public health program offerings and will start as early as fall of 2019.

     

    The University of Toledo is seeking three tenure-track, assistant professors who want to join a strong team of collegial and student-centered faculty. The desired candidate will be interested in contributing to graduate and undergraduate teaching in our Public Health programs (BS, MPH, PhD)   and will be able to contribute to the scholarly interests of the School of Population Health. We are seeking candidates who have expertise in one or more of the following areas: biostatistics, social determinants of health, health policy, and public health management and leadership.

    Qualifications:

    Qualification (required):
    A completed a doctoral degree (PhD or DrPH) with a focus in public health or a related area of study (e.g., biostatistics, health promotion/behavior/education, health policy, health leadership, or a similar field of study). ABD candidates with a doctoral focus
    in public health or a related area of study will be considered if the degree will be completed prior the start date of the position. Additionally, applicants who have completed a public health related master’s degree and an advanced terminal doctoral degree related to public health (e.g., PhD, EdD, JD, MD) will be considered. Evidence of ability to engage in sustained
    research and scholarly activity (peer-reviewed publications, refereed presentations, grant writing).

    Commitment to student-centered teaching,research, and service.

    Communicate effectively and enjoy interacting with faculty, staff, students, alumni, and community partners;

    Create and maintain collaborative partnerships both within and outside the school, college and university;

    Demonstrate collegiality and ability to work as a member of a research or project team.

    Embrace diversity and support the growth and expansion of the public health program.
