Job Description:

The School of Sciences and Engineering at the American University in Cairo, the Department of Mechanical Engineering is seeking one faculty member for a fixed term appointment beginning Fall 2019.

The successful candidate will be required to undertake academic duties that include teaching and research in the field of Industrial Engineering and serving on different departmental, school and university committees. He/she is expected to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in the areas Engineering Operations Research, Production and Inventory Control, Work Analysis and Design, Systems Simulation, Manufacturing System Automation, Facilities Planning, Reliability Engineering and Risk Analysis, Maintenance Management Systems, and Decision Support in Engineering Systems.

She/he is expected to conduct research and attract research grants in her/his field of specialty and supervise graduate research in Integrated Manufacturing Systems, Systems Modeling and Optimization, Production Systems Design, and Integrated Supply Chains.

Although candidates at the assistant/associate professor levels are preferred, exceptionally well qualified candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of full professor.


Requirements:

Candidates must hold a doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering. He/she should have a demonstrated track record of teaching and research in the areas of Industrial Engineering. A solid record of professional practical experience and established record in attracting funded research and scholarship is highly desirable. A professional Engineer (PE) status in North America or equivalent is preferred.
