Bachelors Degree in Health Administration or related degree required. Masters Degree preferred. Five years of supervisory experience, preferably in a clinic setting, required. Experience in successfully overseeing a medical practice facility or academic practice preferred. Understanding and prior use of Electronic Health Records / Practice Management software is desirable. A combination of education, experience, and training that would produce the required knowledge and abilities could be considered.

Nature & Purpose of Position

Serves the proposed College of Osteopathic Medicine (Candidate Status- seeking accreditation) by developing a new faculty practice in Conroe, TX, and overseeing all operations of the SHSU faculty practice. Manages day-to-day clinic operations, efficiency, and staffing. Provides input into processes to provide patients with a positive experience when seeking health services in the facility.

Primary Responsibilities

The Director of Clinic Operations will lead in the administration and the overall operation of a multispecialty clinical practice consisting of approximately twenty physicians and nurse practitioners that serve as faculty for the proposed SHSU College of Osteopathic Medicine and SHSU School of Nursing. The clinic will also serve as a teaching site for medical, advance practice nursing and nursing students. Works with provider and administrative staff to establish strategic planning for clinic success.
Aspects of the practice that are included in the Director’s responsibilities include:
staffing, including hiring and oversight, scheduling, patient registration, call center operations, coding, billing and collections, Electronic Health Record /PM software, Medicare, Medicaid and insurance contracting, HIPAA compliance, patient satisfaction, meaningful use, and patient Centered Medical Home.

Other Specifications

The SHSU faculty practice is being created to communicate effectively in speech and writing including conversing with medical practitioners and experts, writing reports, and creating materials. Demonstrates personal initiative and leadership abilities to deal with a rapidly changing environment. Travel may occasionally be required. Computer skills required.
