DEAN OF DOCTORAL PROGRAMS, SCHOOL OF NURSING, IWU-NATIONAL & GLOBAL

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides direct leadership for the School of Nursing (SON) Doctoral programs with academic
oversight and curricular development of new doctoral programs.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to the Vice President Academic Affairs, SON.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the doctoral programs and serve on committees as assigned/elected.
  • Ensure program compliance with Accreditation standards (CCNE).
  • Provide oversight of curriculum assessment and revision. Ensure instruction is conducted with academic quality and rigor.
  • Participate in faculty recruitment, hiring and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with pertinent operational units in IWU National and Global.
  • Maintain an ongoing relationship with the community of interest.
  • Teaches three (3) credits per year.
  • Supervise assigned professional and support staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Remote accessibility is needed to accomplish duties and responsibilities on short notice when away from the office as well as from time to time being “on call” outside of normal office hours.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Doctoral degree in nursing or related field.
  • Advanced degree in nursing required.

Experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures representing a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in teaching in baccalaureate and higher degree program(s).
  • Minimum of three years administrative or management experience in higher education.

Required Skills:

  • Applicant must hold a valid, unencumbered, Indiana RN license upon hire
