This position is for a marketing assistant at Ploughshares.
The marketing assistant is responsible for working with the managing editor to create and execute marketing strategy for all Ploughshares activities, including its issue releases, events, festival attendance, partnerships, and public-facing fundraising campaigns.
The marketing assistant will, as a result, handle ad buying, social media strategy, public relations strategy, issue promotions, event promotions, newsletter development, partnership generation and coordination, and marketing data analysis for Ploughshares.
The marketing assistant will also be responsible for helping to manage one to two marketing interns per semester, who will assist the marketing assistant in executing the above initiatives.
This position is typically held by a student who can commit to the job for the duration of their time at Emerson, including the summer semester. Students graduating December 2020 at the earliest are eligible to apply.Required Qualifications
Experience managing social media, publicity campaigns, and/or email marketing campaigns is required.Preferred Qualifications
Strong applicants will have held previous internship or jobs marketing or publishing.
Experience with email newsletter programs (Mailchimp, Constant Contact), Google Analytics, and social media analytics platforms (Sprout Social, Hootsuite) is preferred.Physical Demands
