Job Description:

The Computer Engineering program at York College of Pennsylvania invites applications for either a Tenure Track Assistant Professor or a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, depending on the candidate's qualifications at the time of hire, to begin in August 2019. Technical areas of interest include but are not limited to embedded system design/development.

The successful candidate will teach a variety of undergraduate computer engineering courses to engineering and computer science majors. Visiting faculty may also oversee independent study projects, senior software design projects, and teach special topics courses in their area of research.

As a teaching-focused institution, our Computer Engineering program is characterized by small class sizes, extensive student/faculty interactions and classes with hands-on and project-based work. Students participate in three semesters of co-operative education employment as part of our experiential education program prior to graduation, gaining valuable experience that they can then apply in their classroom learning

Requirements:

Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering or a closely related field (applicants who are ABD or have a Master's degree will be considered for the Visiting position). Candidates must have the interest and ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate engineering courses. Candidates with prior teaching experience and interest in pedagogical research are valued. Individuals hired on the Tenure Track will also be expected to demonstrate the potential for outstanding advising and scholarly activity as well as development of undergraduate laboratories.
