As our Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement within Alumni Relations, you will provide leadership, strategy, and support for a wide range of activities that advance regional engagement and collaboration with our alumni and cultivate volunteers across 100+ alumni organizations including regional Clubs and affiliated and shared interest groups. Working closely with the Communities team and others throughout the Advancement division, our Assistant Director will create, market, and execute a variety of programs and training that fulfills the need of each diverse community and demonstrates the value of lifelong relationships with Dartmouth. In collaboration with your new colleagues, you will cultivate relationships with leaders of alumni communities, identify leadership needs, recruit potential new leaders, and strengthen the pipeline of volunteers. In your new role you will provide operational support and leadership in department communications, website resources and training, and iModules support for volunteer organization leaders, including enhancing processes and training.

Who are our affiliated and shared interest groups at Dartmouth? Our affiliated groups include the Black Alumni of Dartmouth Association (BADA), Dartmouth Asian Pacific American Alumni Association (DAPAAA), Dartmouth Association of Latino Alumni (DALA), Dartmouth LGBTQIA+ Alum Association (DGALA), and the Native American Alumni Association of Dartmouth (NAAD). Our shared interest groups include the Dartmouth Alumni in Design and Architecture (DADA), Dartmouth Alumni in Entertainment and Media (DAEMA), Dartmouth Lawyers Association (DLA), and the Dartmouth Uniformed Service Alumni (DUSA).

As our successful candidate, you will bring a Bachelor's degree with at least three years of experience in the field of alumni relations or development in a complex higher education setting. Your work experience has provided opportunities for you to hone your skills in oral and written communications, project management, and problem-solving. You are creative and take pride in brainstorming and delivering creative programming that captures the interest of alumni and fosters lifelong engagement. Your commitment to serving the needs of a diverse alumni network is critical and as a professional, you will be comfortable working and communicating with alumni, senior leadership and other divisional/institutional colleagues from diverse backgrounds. You are a champion of technology and embrace the opportunity to learn our systems to pass your knowledge on to others, including volunteers, and improve our processes. Your volunteer management is a plus, as is your experience working with young alumni.
