The Lab Manager is responsible for the overall operation of all the academic math labs at the Campus. Provides instructional technical support to the Math Department and is responsible for the operation and supervision of an area, assigned classroom or laboratory.

•Operates, manages, and supervises an area, assigned classroom, or laboratory in a manner consistent with educational objectives
•Provides guidance, trains, and assists in the professional development of staff and part-time personnel
•Provides instructional technical support to the math faculty and students and assists students in the use of academic software and tutorials used in academics labs areas thru various medias including workshops, lectures and demonstrations
•Advises/counsels students on course requirements and expectations
•Works with the department faculty to train them in the use of multimedia classroom/lab Facilities
•Assists faculty in the development of testing, assessment and other evaluation instruments for the academic laboratories
•Determines the selection of instructional software titles with other department members
•Performs piloting/testing of software titles for adoption in the department and department Labs
•Analyzes data, prepares reports, and keeps accurate up-to-date records
•Maintains an up-to-date database inventory of all department computer lab software applications
•Maintains inventory of all equipment housed for lending purposes
•Maintains computer equipment and software
•Identifies needs for improvement and develops website and online learning opportunities
•Serves on committees and participates in professional development activities
•Performs other duties as assigned

•Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education or a related field and three (3) years of experience in an academic setting
•All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
•Knowledge of Windows OS, software programs, Microsoft Office Suite applications, on-line systems, and basic research methodology
•Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
•Ability to troubleshoot basic computer hardware and software problems
•Ability to speak effectively before groups of students, faculty and staff
•Possess excellent initiative, supervisory expertise, and decision-making skills
•Knowledge of operation of multimedia equipment
•Knowledge and understanding of training and education principles
•Possess Strong positive customer service and public relation skills
•Skill in project management and the ability to meet deadlines
•Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic environment with students, faculty, and staff
