The Senior Enterprise Solutions Business Analyst provides functional support activities for College’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. The Analyst act as an engaged and effective partner to the key stakeholders in the stages of analysis, requirement development, design, documentation, implementation, and maintenance of complex and diverse applications, systems and processes. This is a Professional Exempt Contractual (PEC) position for which an annual contract reflecting the base salary within the fiscal year (July 1st to June 30th) will be issued after ratification by Miami Dade College’s District Board of Trustees.

  • Partners with key stakeholders to analyze business processes and develop and maintain applications to meet customer needs
  • Sets up and maintains configuration/base tables and troubleshoot issues related to the functional module setup and revisits methodically from time to time the current setup and work with key stakeholders and identify the potential for unfolding new/unused functionality to satisfy unmet business objectives
  • Analyzes impact to customizations when applying patches and bug fixes using PeopleSoft compare reports
  • Researches new releases/updates to help plan for future state of College's business processes
  • Performs fit/gap analysis and research of in-house, third-party or custom solutions to make objective recommendations for IT solutions based on industry best practices
  • Develops functional specifications detailing the logic, configuration and security requirements to be implemented and perform supporting configuration steps
  • Works closely with functional owners and uses knowledge of business processes to create new business workflows , identify and implement solutions to meet business objectives and support emerging priorities
  • Collaborates with other business analysts and technical developers to provide Tier II production support
  • Monitors the ongoing operation and performs activities to assist with performance tuning and troubleshooting of application issues to ensure the performance and features of the system
  • Troubleshoots issues by tracing PeopleCode, Application Engine, Application Packages , and other PeopleSoft objects to identify the root cause of a problem related to code, data, configuration, and provide solution in fixing the core of the issue
  • Develops and maintains appropriate documentation on requirements, functional specifications, testing procedures and application configurations
  • Assists in the configuration of security and business controls , along with investigation and resolution of security incidents , to ensure a stable and secure computing environment

  • Master’s degree in related field with four (4) years of progressive business analyst experience; or Bachelor’s degree in related field with eight (8) years of progressive business analyst experience
  • At least three (3) years of experience in PeopleSoft Campus Solutions including Admissions, Advising, Student Records, Financial Aid, and Student Financials.
  • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
  • Working knowledge and solid understanding of rules, processes, and data flows of one or more modules including Admissions, Advising, Student Records, Financial Aid, and Student financials.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft student information system.
  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Linux, or Mac OS X operating system
  • Working knowledge of SQL queries
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range
  • of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to work independently when performing analytical tasks
  • Ability to apply broad business knowledge and practical experience to the analysis/solution
  • generation process
  • Demonstrated experience working with end-users to analyze needs and define requirements
  • Demonstrated experience developing training materials, training and supporting end-users
  • Knowledge of the current and developing information technology services requirements in a
  • large educational institution
