Serves as senior administrative officer for the Skilled Trades, Engineering and information Technologies Division upholding academic standards while providing direction to the College on academic program and operational matters. Works closely with assigned faculty to develop and sustain academic program offerings. Serves as an ambassador of the College and helps communicate the College's mission to both internal and external communities. Primary duties involve exercising discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance, such as faculty hiring issues, curricular program updates and changes, or academic administrative efforts related to the operation of the College.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Leads faculty in student outcomes assessment, program evaluation, curriculum review and development.

Recruits and selects both full and part-time instructional and administrative staff.

Recommends faculty for appointment, promotion, tenure or retention, and/or termination.

Evaluates full and part-time instructors while promoting professional development including outside credentialed CCP instructors on an annual basis.

Develops class schedules and assigns classes to instructors.

Holds regular meetings with the faculty to facilitate communication and faculty participation in planning, implementing, and evaluating the curriculum.

Identifies budgetary needs and administers division budget, maintains records, and prepares statistical reports.

Responsible for coordinating scheduled lab and equipment maintenance, equipment repair and new equipment request.

Participates in formulating and administering College policies and developing long-range goals and objectives for both the institution and the division.

Participates in activities of academic and administrative committees.

Works directly with industries and advisory boards in the area to ensure programs and laboratories are up to date and functional. In addition, the incumbent will coordinate and oversee laboratory and faculty needs.

Coordinates, compiles, and oversees distance learning course offerings.

Creates, manages and reviews both new and existing articulation agreements with area high schools and technology centers, on an annual basis.

Oversees submission process for course and program updates/modifications for internal (e.g., Curriculum Committee) and external review (e.g., ODHE, Higher Learning Commission, and Career Centers).

Completes other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.

Required Education and/or Work Experience:•Master's Degree in a field appropriate to the Division required, or equivalent experience.
•Experience in supervising faculty and staff in daily divisional operations, budget management and program coordination desired;
•Extensive Industry experience in manufacturing, skills trades, Engineering or Information Technologies;
•Demonstrated leadership skills desired;
•Teaching experience in one of the academic areas of the division at a community college strongly preferred.
