The Department of Physician/Faculty Recruitment and Retention at theLewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) at Temple University is seeking qualifiedapplicants for the role of Senior Physician Recruiter. 


Reporting to the Senior Director, the SeniorPhysician Recruiter will be responsible for all tasks associated with thesuccessful recruitment of qualified physicians for faculty (clinical, basicscience) and non-faculty positions within the Lewis Katz School of Medicine aswell as clinical positions within Temple University Hospital and Health System.

 

The SeniorPhysician Recruiter will have overall management of assigned searches frominitial candidate inquiry and screening through to appointment confirmation.Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: performingcandidate sourcing tasks utilizing innovative and current practices, includingnetworking, direct sourcing, social media, referrals, online publications andother electronic platforms; travelling to local, regional and national careerfairs, conventions and networking events, as needed; assessing and screening(phone, in-person) applicants; consulting with department administrators andchairs about physician faculty and non-faculty vacancies, and advancingappropriate resumes to departments for further review; serving as liaisonbetween candidates and the department, and responding to candidate inquiriesthroughout the recruitment process; working with the HR department on recruitmentprocess for non-faculty physician hires; conducting reference checks (verbal,written), and gathering relevant hiring documentation; trackingcandidates/applicants in the applicant tracking system, and creating reportsfor senior management, as needed; developing and maintaining complexspreadsheets, and summarizing and presenting data, as required; andparticipating in the candidate site visit process. The Senior Recruiter willalso have a lead role in sourcing candidates for all openings including leadershippositions.  In addition, the incumbent will contribute to the planning andexecution of various departmental recruitment related initiatives and partnerwith the Senior Director to create and execute strategic recruitment plans inaccordance with the needs and goals of the Lewis Katz School of Medicine,Temple University Hospital and Health System. Performs other related duties asassigned. 

 

RequiredEducation and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with at least six years ofrelated recruitment experience. An equivalent combination of education andexperience may be considered.

RequiredSkills and Abilities:
*Demonstrated computer skills, and proficiency with MS Office Suite to includeadvanced skills with MS Word and MS Excel.
*Demonstrated knowledge of current trends andbest practices related to candidate procurement.

*Provenability to build and maintain candidate networks.

*Demonstratednegotiation and collaborative skills, along with the ability to build andmaintain relationships with physician faculty, healthcare practitioners, andadministration at all levels.
*Demonstrated organizational and prioritizationskills, along with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
*Ability to work independently and in a teamenvironment.
*Demonstrated customer service skills, whichinclude responding to customer needs and requests in a timely manner.
*Demonstrated communication skills, includingthe ability to be an effective interviewer.
*Demonstrated strategic thinking skills, with astrong attention to detail.

*Ability tohandle confidential information.
*Must be able to travel locally, regionally andnationally, as needed.

Preferred:

*Experiencewith healthcare recruitment (clinical, basic science) experience stronglypreferred. *Extensive knowledge of medical and surgical clinical specialtyareas and strong negotiating and closing skills.

*Experiencewith candidate sourcing and the various methods and resource used to procuretop level talent.

*Experiencewith documenting, tracking and reporting search activity in an ATS.
