Part-time Lecturer in Clinical Laboratory Science-FY2020
The Department of Health and Biomedical Sciences at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) has the need to hire Part-Time Lecturers to teach in its Bachelor’s/Master’s Clinical Laboratory Science program. Responsibilities include delivering quality instruction within the program.

Applicants must hold a master’s degree and appropriate nationally recognized ASCP certification as a medical laboratory scientist or medical technologist and a master’s degree in an appropriate field. Good communication skills and the ability to teach laboratory and lecture courses is required.Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Applicants must have at least three years of clinical or teaching experience which enables them to teach clinical chemistry and at least one other major area of the curriculum.Preferred Qualification
Experience in online course delivery and distance education. Knowledge of accreditation requirements and familiarity with multicultural environments. UTRGV is a distributed institution. As such and as assigned, the position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Work is performed primarily in a general office environment. This position is security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of the Texas Education Code §51.215. The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.Please Note
