Marian University’s Leighton School of Nursing (LSON) is seeking an energetic and internally motivated full-time faculty member for the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) track of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) graduate degree program. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience, skills, record of scholarship, and education. The Leighton School of Nursing is currently a leader in nursing education and offers several undergraduate and graduate programs including a traditional BSN, second degree, RN to BSN, MSN education, and DNP Nurse Anesthesia or FNP track.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in curriculum development
  • Collaborate with other faculty to develop DNP FNP coursework
  • Participate in ongoing program and curricula quality improvement initiatives
  • Engage in scholarly work and community service activities
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and learning activities to enhance classroom and clinical learning and promote student achievement of program outcomes
  • Accurately document student progress and achievement within specific courses and/or clinical assignments
  • Serve as a DNP project team member in accordance with the DNP project guidelines
  • Fulfill all other duties and responsibilities of the faculty position as designated in the School of Nursing Faculty Handbook
  • Accept responsibility for assignments as delegated
  • Maintain FNP certification requirements
  • Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Marian University.
  • Doctoral Degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP)
  • Current Licensure as an APRN in state of residence
  • Eligibility for RN licensure in Indiana
  • Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner
  • Evidence of recent clinical practice
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching in an academic nursing program setting (teaching experience in a graduate level program and adult & older adult health expertise a plus)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Computer skills with knowledge & proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
