Marian University’s Leighton School of Nursing (LSON) is seeking an energetic and internally motivated adjunct faculty member. The LSON is currently a leader in nursing education and offers several undergraduate programs including a traditional BSN, a second degree program, RN to BSN, MSN with education focus, and DNP.

Clinical Adjunct Faculty are primarily responsible for supervision of clinical experiences for students. Collaboration with course coordinator is essential to assure clinical outcomes are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports overall philosophy and goals of the nursing program.
  • Supervises students during clinical experiences utilizing clinical learning outcomes.
  • Communicates with course coordinator to coordinate didactic and clinical learning.
  • Communicates with course coordinator regarding student performance.
  • Promotes positive relationships among Marian University community, nursing students and the clinical learning facility personnel.
  • Evaluates and completes forms regarding student’s clinical performance and associated written assignments. Provides written and verbal feedback to students.
  • Notifies course coordinator, students and clinical personnel of change of scheduling, i.e. snow days.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor in Nursing required, Master’s degree in nursing with specialization appropriate to area of responsibility preferred, or documentation of working on Master’s Degree.
  • Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Indiana.
  • Experience for a least 2 years in the practice of nursing.
  • Maintains membership and active participation in professional nursing associations is desirable.
  • Maintains expertise in area of specialization, which may include conferences, practices, presentations, or certification.
