Pre-College Technical Teaching Assistant (Film)

Description:
Pre-College teaching assistants support instructors with the delivery and
conduct of courses during the Pre-College Summer Programs. Duties include
but are not limited to monitoring high school students; leading labs,
workshops and/or discussion sessions; performing clerical tasks associated
with course instruction, such as copying, sending emails, distributing
information to students, attendance taking; accompanying students on
program-related field trips; and offering additional assistance to students.
The position reports to the lead instructor of the program and works under
the direction of staff from the Department of Professional Studies and
Special Programs. Teaching assistants are subject to Emerson College's
employment policies. All candidates must consent to (and successfully pass)
a full background check, participate in faculty orientation, and required
training.
We are currently accepting applications for our five-week Pre-College
Filmmakers Studio Program.
Program dates: July 8-August 9, 2019.
You are welcome to submit an application for consideration provided that you hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree and have a background in film and video making; and using such programs as Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Maya, Quick Time and Media Composer.

You are welcome to submit an application for consideration provided that you hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and possess a background in film making and visual and media arts. The minimum acceptable background for all candidates is one year of related experience, which can be satisfied by having previously worked as a teaching assistant for high school or college students, or by having completed a teaching certification program. Applicants also must provide evidence of their knowledge of industry-specific technical equipment or software. Key competencies:

•Adaptability Program-specific experience requirements: Candidates for the Filmmaking
must have a background in film and video making; and using such programs
as Adobe Suite, Final Cut Pro, Motion, Maya, Quick Time and Media
Composer. All teaching assistants must be punctual in attendance. Candidates must complete the Pre-College Teaching Assistant Position application; and submit a cover letter and current résumé.
