The Department of Nutrition and Food Sciences at the University of Rhode Island invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor (non tenure-track) position for the 2019-20 academic year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach 3 undergraduate courses per year including General Nutrition (NFS 207) and Public Health Nutrition (NFS 212G) and Food, Nutrition, and People (NFS 276G). Work with the University of Rhode Island Cooperative Extension Program to provide nutrition outreach for residents of the state including, but not limited to, those that are SNAP and EFNEP eligible. Supervise students in experiential learning. Support grant funded programs, including SNAP-Ed, EFNEP, and CYFAR, including supporting and implementing ongoing activities. Assist with grant writing and implementation.
1.Earned doctorate in Nutrition or closely related area conferred by the time of appointment.
2.Demonstrated experience teaching course(s) in nutrition at a college or university.
3.Demonstrated experience delivering nutrition education programs in a community setting.
4.Demonstrated proficiency in oral communication.
5.Demonstrated proficiency in written communication.
6.Demonstrated ability to work in an interdisciplinary team.
7.Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups/populations.
1.Demonstrated experience developing and writing nutrition-related grant proposals.
2.Demonstrated ability to evaluate program data and publish results in grant reports or scholarly publications.
