Job Duties: Director of Registration and Enrollment - Superviseandmanage operations for WattsSchool of Nursing registration and enrollment. To include coordinationof class schedules, studentrecords, regulatory requirements, and other student related activitiesnoted below.-Evaluation of all transcripts for general education courses and anytransfer of nursing courses(minimum of 25 # 60 credit hours per students, transfer in. Mustevaluate courses to meet the stateand national requirements for post-secondary transfer credit-Creating and maintaining student transcripts-Completing required reports related to student enrollment -Responsiblefor VeteransAdministration requirements for students who are veterans-Responsible for state and national requirements for internationalstudents-Ensure adherence to state, federal, and Watts College of Nursingregulations, reporting, andguidelines-Compile and analyze registration statistics for administrativeutilization-Prepare statistical reports on educational activities for governmentaland educational agencies-Interpret registration policies for faculty members and students-Advise students on coursesoffered-Supervise the compilation of information such as class schedules,number of students registeredand historical data for publication-Develop policy and apply policy related to: student records,registration, enrollment, transfer, anddocuments-Responsible for articulation process for issuing transfer credit-Responsible for evaluating alltranscripts prior to matriculation to nursing courses-Creating and building data files-Management of student records, transcripts, reporting, and stateandnational compliance-Responsible for registration, system processing and attendancerequired documentation forstudents-Plans and implements the registration process for each cohort ofstudents-Responsible for gradation verification, eligibility and validation ofmeeting requirements to graduate-Responsible for verifying, approving, and printing of diplomas andprograms-Enrollment statistics reporting to the state and national data bases-Reconciles records foraccuracy to provide confirmation for degree verification and criteriatograduation-Enrollment statistics - create, maintain, and audit rosters forcompletion and accuracy eachsemesterto include required information for the state and national requirements(ethnicity, race, placement,repeats, drops, gender-Follow Satisfactory Academic Progress Policy in documenting thestudent progress in theprograminthe student record and transcript-Vastknowledge of student management system to assist students andfaculty-Implementation of student management system and processes for change-Knowledge ofelectronic systems required for state and nationalreporting-Conducts audits for compliance for accrediting bodies for studentrecords, graduationrequirements,and transfer credit processes-Responsible for compliance and implementation of documentationrequirement for FERPAregulationsCreates the academic calendar annualMinutes of administrative and College meetings related to registrationand enrollmentChair Committees for the College and DUHS related to registration andenrollmentStudent registration in the DUHSStudent registration for building securityCoordinate ID Badge access with DRHProcesses students# withdrawals and leave of absence from courses andCollegeProcesses NA1 certificationsProcess graduate recordMaintains graduate packets to alumniCreate, maintenance, monitor, and audit Student files and recordsCoordinates the process andreports for criminal background checks Filling requests for transcriptsfrom alumniResponsible for calculating and publishing Honors listingCoordinate the planning and implementation of commencement ceremoniesMaintain studentrecords for accuracy and changes (name, address) Other duties asassigned

Duke University was created in 1924 by James Buchanan Duke as a memorial to his father, Washington Duke. The Dukes, a Durham family that built a worldwide financial empire in the manufacture of tobacco products and developed electricity production in the Carolinas, long had been interested in Trinity College. Trinity traced its roots to 1838 in nearby Randolph County when local Methodist and Quaker communities opened Union Institute. The school, then named Trinity College, moved to Durham in 1892, where Benjamin Newton Duke served as a primary benefactor and link with the Duke family until his death in 1929. In December 1924, the provisions of indenture by Benjamin’s brother, James B. Duke, created the family philanthropic foundation, The Duke Endowment, which provided for the expansion of Trinity College into Duke University.Duke Campus

As a result of the Duke gift, Trinity underwent both physical and academic expansion. The original Durham campus became known as East Campus when it was rebuilt in stately Georgian architecture. West Campus, Gothic in style and dominated by the soaring 210-foot tower of Duke Chapel, opened in 1930. East Campus served as home of the Woman's College of Duke University until 1972, when the men's and women's undergraduate colleges merged. Both men and women undergraduates now enroll in either the Trinity College of Arts & Sciences or the Pratt School of Engineering. In 1995, East Campus became the home for all first-year students.

Duke maintains a historic affiliation with the United Methodist Church.
