Job Description
OverviewThe Data Manager supports the administration, maintenance, and data integrity of the Office of Admissions databases, including PeopleSoft (PS), Perceptive Content (PC), the Slate CRM database, and other local databases, as well as diverse aspects of the application process.  Works collaboratively with the Data Management Team (DMT) to handle all incoming data requests/recurring reporting needs, data loads, and report inquiries as well as conduct data analysis as needed to support Admissions initiatives.  The Data Manager is a key player in the reconciliation of Admissions data across systems as well as Admissions status delivery, and must be able to function as a backup for all duties assigned to the Data Management Team.  Reports to the Associate Director of Data Analytics.
 Responsibilities

  • Recipient of all ad-hoc data/report requests.  Work with DMT to ensure all are reviewed and completed in a timely manner. 
  • Work with 3rd party vendors to manage plagiarism for applicants across programs, and application verification loads for admitted students across programs. 
  • Support operational e-mail initiatives (Slate) 
  • Manipulate data using Excel and Access to facilitate data evaluation for various department needs.
  • Support creation and execution of scheduled reports.
  • Provide input on system improvements to enhance processes. 
  • Reconcile application data. (Slate/PS)
  • Monitor data activity to identify potential inconsistencies; make recommendations for solution to problems identified. 
  • Reconcile and maintain data in both Slate and People Soft databases across the life cycle of a Candidate, including handling duplicate records, unsubscribe requests, and any other data cleanup needed.
  • Release admission decisions for Working Professional programs, and other decision related communications as needed.
  • Act as Admissions lead for testing of new systems/functionality, applications, queries, SQRs, etc.
  • Coordinate all list loads – GMAT, GMASS, GRE, Events, Fairs, etc.
  • Support mass matriculation process. 
  • Act as a backup to create, manage, and document all processes, interfaces, and reports in Slate and PeopleSoft.
  • Provide user support to staff for daily processes in Slate and PeopleSoft.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Skills and Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree required. 
  • Minimum 2 years of work experience, preferably in a technical, data analysis, or admissions role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously in a fast-paced, dynamic, team environment with a proven track record of successful project management including ability to work independently.
  • Must be very comfortable in a highly computerized environment, including database management and HTML code. 
  • Attention to detail required.
  • Ability to interpret and analyze data to support department strategies required.
  • Strong written communication, interpersonal and team skills are essential.
  • CRM experience highly desirable, preferably with Slate and PeopleSoft.
  • Excel knowledge/skills required.  Access experience highly desirable.
