Preferred Qualifications

An earned Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs Administration, Business, International Affairs, or related field.
International experience and intercultural communication/competencies (e.g. study abroad, life/travel abroad, etc.).
Two years experience coordinating university-wide programming or activities.
Multi-lingual with proficiencies in written and oral communication.
A strong desire to help international students and the patience required to work with learners who may have limited English proficiency.
Knowledge of student learning outcomes and program evaluation.
Flexibility of work including willingness to work limited nights and weekends.
Ability to drive a 12-person UGA fleet vehicle.

Position Summary

The Coordinator will report to the director of the DAE in the management and innovation of the IEP and collaborate closely with the program director for the IEP. This position includes, responsibilities such as responding to e-mails, preparing visa-related documents, answering students’ questions (by e-mail and face to face) preparing invoices using QuickBooks, managing inventory, in putting new students into the registration program, processing payment requests for invoices and purchasing via the University’s UGAMart system, and inputting payment requests in the OneSource Financial Management system. Additionally, the Coordinator will contribute to conversations on the program’s innovation and future evolution.

Manage program support for the IEP including, but not limited to designing and implementing innovations to maximize program effectiveness and sustained growth; managing application processes; providing administrative support for orientation, placement testing, and exit testing; assisting in planning and executing program events; and, providing appropriate programmatic support for participants during their residency. Additionally, the Coordinator will provide assistance from first-day entry through program exit; track participants’ academic progress through completion and beyond; and, supply direct intervention and networking support when needed.

Work closely with IEP program director and DAE director to lead collaborations with a wide range of campus partners on programming and innovate on support networks and events. Liaise with key campus partners including the Office of Global Education, International Student Life, Carl Vinson Institute of Government, the Graduate School, etc. and explore innovative new partnerships via the UGA Gwinnett Campus and beyond.
