The Georgia Center for Assessment (GCA) is responsible for scoring student responses for an onsite scoring project this spring and summer. We are looking for conscientious people to read and score student responses. Evaluators first undergo training, pass a qualifying test, and then score actual student responses. During training, trainees will examine model papers to learn the scoring system, score practice papers, and discuss the results with trainers. Finally, all trainees must pass a qualifying test. Upon qualifying, evaluators will begin scoring student papers immediately.
The position requires evaluators who are college graduates to score a wide range of assessment items and essays across multiple grades and subject areas. Evaluators who complete one scoring project in good standing will be eligible for additional scoring projects.
Assignments will be based on areas of expertise, contractual obligations, volume of work, etc. GCA will communicate with applicants regarding their project assignments during the hiring process.

4-year college degree (any major).

Availability to work up to 40 hours per week during some weeks, and not currently employed elsewhere at UGA due to payroll restrictions/hourly requirements. Excellent reading and comprehension skills. Ability to follow written and/or oral procedures and practices. Ability to use a Windows computer, keyboard and mouse.

Ability to concentrate while sitting in a large room for long periods of time with a large number of other people working. Ability to use a Windows computer, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time.
