Job Title: 2019 SOAR Program Instructor

Division: High School Partnerships

Location: Aurora Downtown Campus and at multiple campus locations.

Job Summary:

Teach high school summer courses during one or both three-week summer semesters utilizing approved course outline and syllabus. Available subjects include: Algebra 2, American Literature, Oral Composition (Speech), American
Government, Economics, and US History.

Ensure the safety and well-being of students and adhere to all WCC policies and procedures.

There is a mandatory staff orientation on Thursday, June 6, 2019, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.  More
information will be provided in the future.

Special Instructions to Applicants:  Please attach all required documents at time of application. This is a temporary summer position. June classes run every weekday from June 10-June 28, 2019. July classes run every weekday from July 8-July 26, 2019, instructors are scheduled for either 8:00 a.m. to 12:10 p.m. or 12:35 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. Mandatory staff orientation is on Thursday June 6, 2019, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A copy of your valid IL Ed.Admin certificate is required to be attached to your application.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and secondary education teaching certificate with endorsement in subject area required.
  • Completed at least 1 year of teaching at the high school level.  Substitute teaching experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet diverse learning requirements of high school students and experience working with diverse student populations.
  • Familiarity with Illinois State Standards for the requested teaching area.
