Rider University in Lawrenceville and Princeton New Jersey, seeks an experienced, strategic, entrepreneurial and collaborative information technology leader to assume the role of CIO/Associate Vice President for Information Technologies to provide vision and leadership in developing and implementing efficient, innovative and cost-effective technology across the University. Reporting to the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer and serving on the president’s cabinet, the CIO is responsible for aligning technology to academic and administrative strategic objectives. This CIO will collaborate with leaders across the university and lead a team of professionals in providing high-level technology services at the University. The new CIO will be expected to assume responsibilities in summer 2019.

The CIO will work collaboratively with the members of the University’s leadership team, and with faculty, staff, and students to provide forward-looking leadership to a complex portfolio of information technology services on both campuses including leading, administering, planning, and budgeting areas of administrative computing, academic computing, enterprise systems, classroom and conference technologies, computer labs, instructional technologies, information and support services, campus telecommunications, campus networks (LAN, WAN), media services, and emerging technologies. The new CIO will possess the ability to lead a strong and dedicated staff and to engage them in thoughtful consideration of best practices in technology services with a focus on customer service and continuous improvement. The CIO will also be an active supporter of the University’s ongoing strategic plan, especially as it relates to information technology across the campus. A bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline is required and a master’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred. The successful candidate will have ten years of progressively responsible experience in program and project planning, management and administration in complex information management environments. Higher education experience is preferred.
