LIM College – Where Business Meets Fashion is currently seeking candidates for the position of Senior Systems Administrator.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Information Technology, the Senior Systems Administrator (lead) is responsible for the design and upkeep of information systems that align with LIM College's mission, goals, needs and objectives. The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for overseeing the administration of LIM College's entire server infrastructure. This will include the installation, configuration, documentation and maintenance of all Windows Servers, Virtual Infrastructure, Citrix XenApp, and Proprietary Servers. This position will provide leadership for the System's Administrator and Jr. System's Administrator.

This position will also work with the Director of IT, the Director of IT Operations, and the Chief Technology Officer in defining technology requirements; assessing server, storage and infrastructure sizing; analyzing hardware sizing to meet application requirements; and designing load balancing/clustering solutions. This position will work with the Director of IT overseeing and building technology plans, standards for procedures, and policies as they relate to IT Systems architecture. This position will collaborate community stakeholders; review new and existing IT projects, systems designs and maintenance plans, and conducting research on emerging technologies to support changes in system's infrastructure.Requirements: The person selected will have the following qualifications:
  • Microsoft, Scripting, VMWare or related technology certification is required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred
  • Required Knowledge:
    • Scripting: Ability to support, create and maintain active scripts: Windows scripting languages – PowerShell
    • Hardware: All X86, X64 Servers, Workstations, and Laptops technologies; HP, Dell, IBM, SAN, NAS, and backup devices
    • Systems: Windows 7 & 10, Server 2008, 2012, and 2016 Microsoft System Center Operations Manager (SCOM), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), working Linux knowledge is a plus, VMWare ESX and ESXi 5.0, 5.5, 6.5 Exchange 2010 & 2013, Citrix XenApp/Desktop 6.5, 7.6
    • Networking: Virtual Switches, Understand Vlan concepts, and Networking Core Concepts
    • Software: Nearly all major software suites including but not limited to Microsoft Office 2010, 2013, 2016, Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft End Point Protection
  • Experience Required:
    • A minimum of six (6) years in the Administration of Microsoft Windows Server Environment
    • Expert in the Administration of Windows Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows Server 2008, 2012 Server, ADFS, DNS, DHCP, IIS
    • Strong knowledge of virtual environment, SAN's, Microsoft Operations and Configuration Manager
    • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP and networking
    • Strong Administration in Exchange 2010, email gateways, and email filtering
    • Strong software and hardware troubleshooting skills of servers, desktops, and peripherals
    • Experience in Citrix XenApp
