Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching courses by providing systematically planned and delivered instruction, designing and developing curriculum, evaluating student performance, and advising students. Teaching assignments may include curriculum courses taught during days and evenings on campus as well as off-site. Qualified applicants must successfully complete welding performance tests in the SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes. Candidates must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a bachelor's degree in welding technology or a closely related field; or an associate degree in welding technology or a closely related field plus current welding experience. Candidates are also required to have current welder certifications through AWS, ASME, OR MIL associations.
Preferred Qualifications
Teaching experience in post-secondary education is preferred. Candidates that currently do not have Certified Welding Instructor (CWI) or Certified Welding Educator (CWE) certifications will need to acquire within two (2) years of employment from AWS if not currently held.
