Job Details
Registered Nurse current licensure in the State of Illinois, Master of Science degree in Nursing, minimum two years recent experience in medical surgical clinical setting. Demonstrated leadership, teaching, integration of evidence-based practice and interpersonal skills to enhance the success of diverse student population. Current AHA Basic Life Support certification.
Must be able to demonstrate the Morton College core values of compassion, fairness, respect, responsibility, tolerance and truth.
Minimum 1 year previous teaching experience in either didactic or clinical setting
Job SummaryInstruct small student groups at affiliated clinical sites throughout Chicago and nearby suburbs, or occasional didactic instruction as faculty substitute. Classes meet at various times and days.
Specific Job Duties•Provide student instruction and supervision for selected group of clients using the nursing process, current patient safety standards and institutional policies/procedures
•Utilize course syllabus, approved textbooks and supplemental materials
•Adhere to course meeting times and location, including orientation(s) and simulation laboratory on campus
•Maintain grade book
•Take and submit attendance, as required
•Facilitate electronic and other communication between students, staff, program director
