Position Title: Garde Manger Instructor
Department: Great Lakes Culinary Institute
Reports To: Director of Business Division and NMC Academic Affairs
Anticipated Starting Date: August 2019
Starting Salary: $43,690.00

JOB SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, and instructs courses at the Great Lakes Culinary Institute utilizing effective and engaging instructional strategies. Lead instructor responsibilities will be the Garde Manger course and may include Professional Cookery and World Cuisine lecture and lab courses. Faculty will recognize the changing needs and trends of the culinary arts industry and culinary arts education. Participate in professional associations, assist in student recruitment and advising activities. Lead and mentor adjunct faculty at the GLCI.
All Faculty positions commensurate with degree and experience as outlined in the NMC Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES and LICENSES
Required:
- Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited college
- American Culinary Federation Certification (CCE and/or CEC or higher), or certifiable with documented experience and education and a commitment to obtain certification within three years of start date
- Three years of experience working at an a la carte, full-service restaurant or hotel with a per-person check average of at least $30.
- Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts from an accredited college
- Minimum of five years of experience as a working chef
- Garde Manger teaching experience at the post-secondary level
