The Chemistry Department invites applicants for a tenure-track position in analytical chemistry beginning in August 2019.  The qualified individual will have a Ph.D. in chemistry.  Post-doctoral research experience is preferred.  Teaching responsibilities include analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, and introductory chemistry courses. Candidates will be expected to develop a program of research that incorporates undergraduate students. While all areas of expertise in analytical chemistry will be considered, preference will be given to candidates who have additional interest in developing urban-related projects in analytical chemistry.

The Chemistry Department resides in the Johnson Center for Science and Community Life (opened August 2014). This space includes state-of-the-art teaching labs, a laser laboratory, dedicated space for faculty-student collaborative research and a fully equipped instrument laboratory with an ATR-FTIR, GC-MS, TXRF, Raman spectrometer, and a 300 MHz NMR, among other instruments. We look for a candidate who will help the department continue its strong record of growth and development.

Interested candidates should review the North Park Faculty Application and prepare a letter of intent, a curriculum vitae, a description of a research program tailored for undergraduate students (2 pages maximum), the required essays within the Faculty Application, and should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent independently. Candidates will only be considered if all required materials are submitted. Candidates will be expected to develop a program of research that incorporates undergraduate students.
