Description

The primary purpose of student employment is to provide current LCC students with the opportunity to acquire job skills and experiences during semesters while actively attending classes at LCC.

This posting is for positions beginning in the Summer 2019 semester.

Library student employees work at the Checkout, Multimedia and Department Office service desks. Duties include but are not limited to: customer service, checking out material and rooms, assisting with computer and equipment problems, re-shelving material, routine shelf maintenance, light cleaning, on-campus errands and clerical duties.

Required Qualifications:

  • Basic internet skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office are required
  • All applicants must supply their Summer Semester work availability
  • Some early morning, evening and weekend shifts are required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Desire2Learn, MyLCC, LCC registration processes is desired
  • Customer service experience is helpful

Summer 2019 Semester Hours:
Monday - Thursday 7:45 AM - 8:15 PM
Friday 7:45 AM - 12:15 PM
Select Saturdays: closed
Select Sundays: closed

Education and Experience

The following requirements apply each semester, in order to maintain eligibility and continue working as a student employee:

- Enrolled & actively attending is required to maintain employment eligibility (i.e. minimum LCC credit hours by semester):

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 6.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits

- International students with an F-1 visa and valid I-20 issued by LCC must meet the following minimum enrollment/credit requirements each semester, in order to maintain employment eligibility per United States Citizenship & Immigration Services (USICS) regulations:

    Fall and/or Spring Semester(s) = 12.0 creditsSummer Semester = 3.0 credits
- Minimum 2.0 GPA or have approval to waive requirement unless it is the student’s first semester of enrollment at LCC

- Must be at least 18 years of age and/or a high school graduate who is at least 17 with a valid, signed work permit

Hours per Week: Up to 25 Hours

Hourly Wage: $9.60
