FUNCTION
The Program Assistant – PA Studies, under the supervision of the Program Director (PD), is responsible for the management and coordination of all programmatic and clerical activities associated with the PA Program.

SUPERVISION
General Supervision: Dean, School of Health Sciences
Daily Supervision: Director, PA Program

QUALIFICATIONS
The PA Program Assistant must be a self-starter who is able to work in an intense, fast-paced environment. The candidate must possess excellent communications, problem-solving, and technical skills. Excellent organizational skills and computer proficiency in MS Office products are required. Due to the fast-paced environment and large size of the program, the ability to multi-task and maintain work duties despite distractions is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Programmatic Responsibilities:
•Coordinate all program activities
•Process student and alumni licensing, hospital credentialing, certification paperwork
•Order and receive necessary office and laboratory supplies
•Process Purchase Orders, track program expenses, and maintain the operational budget
•Participate in required program and university meetings
•Maintain program Facebook group/Twitter Feed or other social media used by the department
•Maintain Job Posting website to ensure postings are current
•Act as liaison between the program and Facilities Department
•Assist the PD with the preparation of ARC-PA accreditation site visits and self-study reports.
•Coordinate activities associated with interview days along with part-time Program Administrative Assistant. Participate in student admissions interview days.
•Create and maintain student, faculty, and staff electronic and paper records for completeness and accreditation standard requirements
•Assist the PD in federal and state grant writing as needed
•Record meeting minutes of all PA Program meetings
•Assist the PD with the development of long and short-term planning objectives for the program
•Perform other duties as assigned by the PD

Professional Responsibilities:
•Work with PD to develop set work schedule that meets program needs
•Pursue educational activities as needed to support job role
•Develop plan for continued growth within the department
•Be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access. Willingness and aptitude to learn new applications
